Assignment Four

Part One
Composition: I used a hash light in order to make her stand out. The lighting from the side gave her an outline around her which I thought looked really nice because it made her pop out against the white wall.

Concept: I wanted to create an image that one could see in a high end fashion ad. I feel as though it was successful though the high contrasted lighting.

Method:  I construct a scene and used a lot of brainstorming for this image. I ended up doing a re shoot because the other images did not look the way I wanted them too. But I feel as though this picture ended up working really well.

Motivations: My goal was to show a sassy side of the model. I wanted to the dress to stand out and show the clothing line. I have always enjoyed high end fashion pictures.

Context: This photo has a lot of sexuality. As they say, sex sells, and this photo would sell the product if it was supported with a line of photos.

Part Two
Interpretation: The classes interpretation of this image as a high end fashion ad.

Evaluation:The class really like how the lines on the wall lined up with the lines in the dress. They also like how crazy her hair was and how the shadow outlined her. They though it would look nice on a black mount bored. It would help the lines sick out more.

Extension: I would love to do a series of high end fashion pictures. I love the light they normal show.

Part One
Composition: I wanted to show her with a more natural look. I tried to agar the chair so it would through the perfectly straight lines on the wall off.

Concept: I wanted to create an image that one could see in a high end fashion magazine. I feel as though it was successful  because most fashion magazine have abstract backgrounds, that have nothing to do with what they are selling or the brand they are promoting.

Method:  I construct a scene and for some reason I am in love with this chair. I feel as though you can though it into any seen and it works. I also really wanted to give her to give off a natural feeling and I did by letting her just sit in the chair and pose they way she wanted to rather then listening to me.

Motivations: Like I have said before and I feel like with this assignment I only liked my photos with from two of the prompts but her dress inspired me to move forward with these photos.

Context: Whenever I see walls like this it reminds me of a photographer that owns a company called rives edge. They use a lot of old black ground with a modern look.

Part Two
Interpretation: The face expression says it all. Almost like a deer caught in head lights, the model does not realize she was getting her picture taken.

Evaluation: The class like the face expression the model was giving off. They also enjoyed how the chair was blown out.

Extension:
I think it would be an interesting composition to photograph the chair in different areas.

Part One
Composition: I used a hash light over head and a standing lamp in order to make her stand out. The lighting from the side gave her an outline around her just like it did in the first one. She has a lighter complexion and I was nervous that she would not stand out against the wall.

Concept: I wanted to create an image had more expression in it. I feel as though this photograph paid off because it is close to her face and the viewer is getting a vibe from the model.

Method:  I found this wall randomly in my basement. Yes, I never go down there, but once I saw this wall I knew I had to use it. I had to move a lot of junk around and fix the lighting in order to capture this photograph.

Motivations: This photo was taken when I did the re-shoot for this assignment. I really wanted to show the model off with a classier look, but I still liked the damaged wall because it tells a story about the models past. I liked the way the lines in the dress were moving with the wall.

Context: This photo has a lot of sexuality. As they say, sex sells, and this photo would sell the product if it was supported with a line of photos.

Part Two
Interpretation: My group said they could see this image on the back wall at American Apparel.

Evaluation: My group really liked the movement that was going on throughout the pictures. They also liked the way I used the burning and dodging tool. They though I could try playing with the space at the top of the photograph.

Extension: I think it would be fun to use this wall in another picture. Rather it be used as a background or object. I also think a series of these photos would take off as advertisements.

Part One
Composition: I used a desk lamp to give her face more light. I had to play around with the image a lot and decided what direction I wanted to take it in.

Concept: I wanted to create an image that could be used as a Covergirl ad. Now as I am looking at it, I should have chosen lipstick, and went wild with her lips. Overall I think it is a good start, and now that I have learned some other lighting tricks from other classmates, I feel as though I will be able to fulfill this photograph with accessory if I try to extend on it.

Method:  I construct a scene by setting up a lamp and chair. I also did a lot of google search of Covergirl in order to allow myself a better understand of their ad style.

Motivations: My motivation with this idea was to show off Covergirl, and potential use this image in future work. As an advertising major I am realizing how impotent it is to have your photographs.

Context: This photo sells Covergirl, and I want the view to see that right when they look at this picture.

Part Two
Interpretation: The classes interpretation of this image as a high end fashion ad.

Evaluation: My group liked how I changed the photo to have a lighter look. Before it was a lot darker and looked a lot harsher. They thought I should try lighting it from behind. With that they thought it would look more like a Covergirl ad.

Extension: I think it would be fun to run with the Covergirl makeup idea and try it out with different models. Then create a series of five different girls advertising different parts of their line of makeup.
